Spooky Roller Rinks

C7 skates Spooky Roller Rinks

Spooky season is here! So what better way to celebrate than to highlight some haunted roller rinks around the country. Check these three out and let us know if it's a myth, legend or truth....

Skatin’ Place

The first stop on the haunted tour is St.Cloud, Minnesota- Skatin’ Place roller rink, to be exact! Full disclaimer, this is based on local legends and myths, but the story goes that the roller rink is built on top of former marshy farmland. The ghost of a boy named Gilbert roams the rink. Although there are no existing records, Gilbert is said to have drowned face down in the swampy, water-filled fields. His ghostly spirit is now blamed for most ‘paranormal’ occurrences throughout the rink.

So what’s the creepy buzz? Arcade machines, music and lights will turn themselves on and off throughout the night. From time to time, you can also hear footsteps on the rooftop. Customers cruising the roller rink have claimed to have seen a face appear from behind an air vent. The staff denies these claims, but why don’t you go ahead and check it out for yourself!

Oh, Florida. For some reason, we believe this may not be the most chilling story to come out of the state. The Deadly Rival Roller Derby team from Pinellas County honestly believes their roller rink is haunted. Check out this ghouly figure, who photobombed their picture here. I mean, if that’s not prime photo evidence that indeed there is something unexplainable there, I don’t know what is.

Apparently, the skate rental room gives off creepy, “you’re not alone” vibes that can only be explained if you experience them yourself! Bathroom lights turn on by themselves. Most importantly, staff has claimed to see a shadowy figure crawl on the rink and other claim to have seen some kind of movement through a door after closing. SO SCARY! I think we’ll pass on visiting this one and we’re sending lots of positive vibes to their team!

Roller World

Ok, so this roller rink is now closed but apparently, it was very, very haunted. At least according to the Sun Journal, they reported a vast mission to extinguish the otherworldly spirits from the premises. It is rumored that the haunting spirits would make you fall as you cruised through the rink. Weird feelings filled the room and once a psychic reported that they felt negative energy in the space.  I guess we’ll never really know about this one, but its’ infamy will live in the quiet town of Topsham, Minnesota.
